The Tim May Medal was established in addition to the "outstanding support to the athletes ' organization movement in cricket" by the international player union.
Cricket global players ' union has undergone a rebrand, with the Federation of International Cricketers ' Associations ( FICA ) to now be known as the World Cricketers ' Association (WCA ). Following a committee meeting and a celebration marking the event of the organization's 25th anniversary, which took place in New York while the Men's T20 World Cup is still running, the decision was made.
The former Australian cricketers ' association (ACA ), which was established in 2005 as the first full-time CEO of FICA, is the recipient of the Tim May Medal, which was also established by WCA. The winners will receive the prize for "exemplary support to the cricket players ' organization movement."
The award's annual winners were announced as May himself and Richard Bevan. Bevan was the CEO of the Professional Cricketers ' Association, the person union for English bowlers, from 2003 to 2007.
