The Australia opening acknowledged the difficult issues involved but said CA's position was' a little bit dishonest'
Despite being friendly to the women's rights issues brought on by the Taliban principle, Usman Khawaja has stated that he thinks Australia should play Afghanistan in diplomatic cricket.
In response to" a marked decline in human rights for women and girls" and two T20 set matches being played in Australia, Cricket Australia has half withdrawn from playing Afghanistan.
Rashid Khan again commented on the situation in the aftermath Afghanistan's famous victory over Australia in the T20 World Cup, saying that he could n't understand how World Cup events can happen but not bilateral cricket.
"I personally think yes we should be playing Afghanistan," Khawaja told Nine Newspapers at an Amazon Prime event in Melbourne. "I am sympathetic to both sides of the puzzle. I totally respect and agree with a lot of aspects of the stance Cricket Australia has in terms of women's cricket in Afghanistan, but there's also another side to it, of promoting and growing the game.
I spoke to Rashid Khan about the next day Australia has pulled out of a diplomatic series. He was really disappointed, more so because the Afghanistan people love cricket, and for them cricket is one of the few things they enjoy and brings happiness, and the fact they were going to play Australia was going to be huge, and they do n't get to see that now. So it really hurts the individuals, and the individuals are distinct from the government. "
Rashid has since become a legend for the Adelaide Workers over the years, making reference to Afghanistan players who have played in the BBL. Ravishd threatened to withdraw from the opposition last season due to CA's position, but he later made himself available without getting hurt.
" It's a little bit dishonest also if we say no we're not going to enjoy Afghanistan, but finally allowing Afghanistan bowlers to play in the BBL," Khawaja said. " They 100 percent really [play], but then how do you complete one and not the other? "
Speaking after Afghanistan's victory in St Vincent, Rashid said:" Some things which are not under the control of anyone in cricket, and that's something we ca n't do anything about it. Wish we could do something, and wish that was a kind of solution for it, we would have been happy, but I do n't know what's the solution for that. "
