Hanuma Vihari, an out-of-love Check player for India, has declared he will never sing for Andhra again after making a public statement earlier this year that he will never play for the country. After receiving full support from the state's new ruling party, the Telugu Desam Party ( TDP ).
The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA ) earlier this month issued a long-awaited no-objection certificate to Vihari. This followed a prolonged public spat in the fallout of their 2023- 24 Ranji Trophy plan. At the time, Vihari had said he was "humiliated and embarrassed" at the cure meted out to him by specific groups within the organization. He alleged political intervention as one of the causes of his resignation as commander at the start of the year.
But, on Monday, Vihari held meetings with TDP leaders before confirming his walk.
" I'm so happy to meet minister Nara Lokesh gaaru]TDP general secretary ] today, and he assured me that I will have full support coming back to Andhra Cricket Association", Vihari told reporters. I'm so happy to meet him, and I can feel completely confident in my relationship with him. I understand his desires for the Andhra Cricket Association.
" It's good to be back in Andhra cricket. I have endured a lot of shame over the past few years. I lost my personal- value. I originally wished to relocate to another position from Andhra Cricket Association, but I now have the guarantee. So I'm eager to return and continue serving Andhra for a long time.
Vihari's U- turn, however, has left the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association ( MPCA ) fuming, with association insiders unhappy about being kept in the dark about the development. He was in talks to sing for Madhya Pradesh last month, too, but the walk fell through with neither party specifying the cause.
After talking with Chandrakant Pandit, the chairman of cricket for MPCA, Chandrakant Pandit, ESPNcricinfo understands that Vihari's expert deal with MPCA was a formality.
Vihari has even begun his preparations for a potential coaching position with the Tamil Nadu Premier League team Madurai Panthers as a coach.
Vihari, 30, played the most recent of his 16 Testing in July 2022. His lone centuries came in the West Indies in 2019, scoring 839 goes for India at an average of 33.56.
Having started his career with Deccan in 2010- 11, Vihari moved to Andhra in 2015- 16. He therefore quickly returned to Hyderabad prior to the 2021- 22 year before moving to Andhra afterwards.
