" We are getting used to home conditions... even though they are home conditions, we do n't have much experience here", says Harmanpreet of playing at Chepauk
Given that Chennai could be one of the facilities for the Women's ODI World Cup in 2015, India commander Harmanpreet Kaur says playing there is a "great prospect" for the team to adjust to the problems.
In a pyramidal line, India's women's team played last at Chepauk's MA Chidambaram Stadium in 2007. They last played a women's Test here in 1976, and the ground has n't hosted any women's T20Is yet. All children's tournaments in India have taken place in Navi Mumbai or Mumbai since the ending of 2022, except for last week's ODI-leg of the South Africa set in Bengaluru. India may play three T20Is against South Africa at the same place following the one-off Check against them that will begin on Friday in Chennai.
" As a team, it's a great option for us", Harmanpreet said on the day of the Test. " We are getting used to home conditions... even though they are home conditions, we do n't have much experience here. However, I believe this series will undoubtedly give us a lot of trust in looking forward to the World Cup and seeing how the wicket did act. With just one time left, we, as a team, are taking this chance with both hands whenever we play home games, say. It's a great way to observe how well the batsmen are and how to develop our knowledge.
This will be India's second Evaluation in seven months. They played backwards- to- up Tests against England and Australia in December 2023, posting huge win in both matches. According to Harmanpreet, playing those two fits has helped the team avoid "overthinking" while maintaining a file.
" In the long format you have to be there]in the middle ] for four days. However, as a person, you can overdo if you think that way. When we last played a Test, we merely considered winning, which was really beneficial. We'll concentrate on each program again this day. You have time to return, which is the best aspect of Examine cricket. If you lose one period, you always have time to]make up for ] things.
" That's the important stage which our assistance staff told us: ' simply rely on each and every session and if you can]break it ] down to two to two- and- a- half hours, think about how you're going to do as a player'. I think that really helps, ]rather ] than thinking that it's a 100 overs]roughly per day ] game which makes you overthink. Those little details truly helped us win the next two Tests and we just want to continue]to use ] those."
According to Harmanpreet, India will rely on brain coach Amol Muzumdar's red-ball knowledge for the Test. Muzumdar, who played 171 first- course matches in a 20- year- much career, has even played two reddish- ball matches at Chepauk.
When I became the captain of those two Tests," Harmanpreet said," I did n't have a lot of experience in Test cricket." Please kindly assist me. He has played bunch of Test]red- game ] cricket and he has a lot of practice. He has given me a lot of advice about making wise decisions on the industry thanks to his experience. I do include a bit of an idea today.
" We have no idea how Chennai innings will sing," the captain said. We have only seen when the men were playing but women's cricket is totally different... the speed, the manner we plate and bat, I think we'll realize that only when we take the field tomorrow, see how the ball behaves and taking decisions. The experienced support staff are definitely going to help us".
