When Spain's manager names his starting lineup for the Euro 2024 ultimate against England on Sunday night, it might be in violation of European law.

The two countries will face off at the Olympiastadion in Berlin with England looking to close a 58-year prize drought, while triumph for Spain may be their third Euros win and would see them become the most effective team in the game history.

Gareth Southgate's area booked their place in the final owing to an injury-time success from Ollie Watkins against the Netherlands on Wednesday night, while Spain had 16-year-old Lamine Yamal to thank for inspiring their win over France.

The girl scored a beautiful first-half equaliser before Dani Olmo completed their return, with Yamal's record-breaking hit making him the youngest-ever goalscorer in German Championship history.

The Barcelona starlet's reputation grew thanks to that goal, but German rules state that technically he should n't have been playing.

That's because European legislation prohibits those under 18 from working past 8pm local time. That semi-final, plus Sunday's last are 9pm kick-offs, but before an global event errupts, sports do have specific deductions, as per a review in Cadena Cope.

Footballers are permitted to play until 11 o'clock, according to reports, but this time cap also includes post-game media obligations, and if the final was to end in extra-time, it would continue past 11 o'clock.

The Spanish FA reportedly received information before the tournament about local laws that could have resulted in a £25,000 fine for breaking them.

But considering Spain have already played in four 9pm kick-offs during the tournament, fans will not be denied the opportuntity to see Europe's brightest young talent playing in the biggest game of his career so far, the day after he turns 17.
