Although Eddie Howe was present as two of Newcastle United's favorite sons accepted their most recent award, the club has yet to send a trophy home.
Ant and Dec's dominance of the National Television Awards puts Manchester City's dominance of the Premier League securely in the dark.
The Geordie duo won the award for the 23rd day in a row at the glittery meeting on Wednesday night, once more, for the first time. You'd assume the script may never change from one year to the next because the best friends have already given so many understanding speeches.
However, Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe received another shoutout this time.
McPartlin and Donnelly could n't resist giving Howe a special mention as long-time local ally supporters of the Magpies.
The original Wellington manager has helped Newcastle leave the Premier League, defeat Paris in the Champions League final season, and reach a League Cup final since taking over the position in November 2021. After their most recent television success, the presenting trio showed their appreciation on stage.
After picking up the bell, McPartlin said:" We know we're not going to get it one time, but it's not now... thank god.
Donnelly therefore thanked their family back home by saying:" Bless you. It's truly hard to put into words just how this feels and what it means to us that you take the time to voting for us.
" Thank you even to our up-and-coming Toon people for supporting us and election," the statement reads.
" Thanks to Eddie Howe, love you", said McPartlin. " I do I enjoy him", he casually added while Donnelly laughed.
The two functions share a hot sentiment.
When Howe initially met the set in 2022, during his first year on Tyneside, he told a press event," It was wonderful to join them. It's undoubtedly one of the features of the trip so far, despite the fact that I've never met them.
I enjoy their job and their performances. And I must say, they were thus enthusiastic about our job.
" It demonstrates how important Newcastle is to people," she said. That meant a bunch".
