The TNT Sport reporter provides an inside look at Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton's new manager.
As they crashed onto the jagged shore in Brighton, the sun was shining brightly on the ripples. The Rockwater cafe on the beach is favorite among visitors and locals, and is already a place one of the city's newest people, Fabian Hurzeler, knows also.
I recently had a sit-down discussion with the new Brighton manager for TNT Sports in this area. The 31-year-old German welcomed the team with kisses and greeted them face-to-face as he entered. He was well-known for their names. He has obviously quite immediately established himself on the south coast.
Similar things can be said about Brighton & Hove Albion's seamless integration. Tony Bloom, the owner, has publicly praised Hurzeler, who believes that Roberto De Zerbi has more in common with the team's philosophy than the Italian.
Brighton entered the first foreign break unbroken in both league and cup matches, including Premier League games against Manchester United and Arsenal, and it has demonstrated that smooth transition on the pitch as well.
There was a concern among Albion supporters that this could be a difficult campaign, with an unknown director taking command holding no prior knowledge of top-flight sports. Hurzeler is immediately dispelling those issues – it surprised viewers how fast he managed to hit the ground running.
After all, it was a big stage in his career. Hurzeler had only been the head coach of a specialized team for 18 months, and that was in Germany's next level. He acknowledged that at this stage in his ambitious occupation, he always imagined how to run the Premier League.
He expressed his admiration for the former Liverpool manager while laughing at being called" the new Jurgen Klopp." He's also been inspired by Thomas Tuchel and Pep Guardiola, but insists on having his own distinctive style and way of doing things, relishing organizing at the top levels.
Six weeks after the Premier League's debut, Hurzeler was born. With that virility, he does provide a pleasant vibrancy to the management part, yet he speaks with authority and is obviously a very express communicator.
By drawing on the expertise and knowledge of his top Brighton players, Danny Welbeck, James Milner, and Lewis Dunk, he ties that beauty in. According to his modest yet exigent approach and desire to succeed as a player, he has also won immediate respect from his teammates.
Although his training sessions are extreme, he may not have experienced many significant changes to the military installation he inherited, making it simpler for him to introduce some of his new ideas.
Before the team's 2-1 victory at home against Manchester United, he stated that people are first and foremost people and that he wanted his players to put their main focus on continually improving themselves.
In his vision, the same applies to the sport. Focus on the procedure, and if you can do it and get it right, the benefits will follow as a consequence.
The former St Pauli boss does n't view his role as manager as a job, but rather his passion. He's shown in a very short period of time that he's criminal in his study and attention to detail. In an effort to win every game, he's used a risk and reward strategy to make substitutes and has used them. Earlier on, it certainly paid off.
Expectations have skyrocketed following a strong first impression, with Melbourne fans then enthralled by their return to Europe for the second time in history. The team have substantially backed Hurzeler, spending about £200m in the most current transfer windows, making them the next biggest spenders in the world this summer.
It's been a pretty good time to support the Seagulls, according to Albion fans, but based on experience, it's certainly been a good idea to get excited about the new coach, the major investment in the crew, and a successful start to the season.
Brighton is frequently referred to as a "model pub," whereby talent is discovered and hired. There are all the warning signs that they've done it once more, this time with their director.
