Arsenal allow a fresh prospect leave Manchester United earlier this summer, and the Red Devils are considering filing a lawsuit over compensation for another former Gunner they are interested in signing.

21-year-old goalkeeper Hubert Graczyk departed the Emirates Stadium after his agreement expired at the end of June, joining a long list of youth-level athletes who left Arsenal along with Aaron Ramsdale, who was sold to Premier League competitors Southampton.

Chido Obi, a promising Swedish youth international, left Arsenal in the summer, and is apparently on Manchester United's radar as well, but the deal officially stalled due to legal issues.

German-based journalist Christopher Michel claimed on X:" Although Chido Obi Martin's contract at# Arsenal has expired, I heard that #MUFC ca n't just sign him on a free transfer.

" Extremely complicated... he is thus only training separately and has not yet been presented."

Michel added that a court day is possible to agree what compensation may be paid to Arsenal- probably referring to a tribunal, which is not unusual for youngsters.

Training payment is credited whenever a player transfers team aged under 23 move leagues- and Obi is just 16.

The forward, who has also represented England at adolescent stage, scored 32 goals for Arsenal's under-18s past year, including seven in a single excursion against Norwich City.

After helping Denmark approach the semi-finals in Cyprus earlier this summer, Obi was chosen to play for the U17 Euro 2024 team.
