Mohamed Salah scored the ultimate goal in Liverpool's 3-0 success at Old Trafford but the issue of his coming quickly became a post-match talking level
England may have enjoyed a thumping get over rivals Manchester United on Sunday, but the post-match discussion immediately turned to the future of Mohamed Salah.
Luis Diaz scored both of his first-half goals before finding the rear of the online himself after the split, which helped the Egyptian win 3-0 at Old Trafford. After entering the last year of his recent England deal, he scored three goals in his first three Premier League appearances this year.
The 32-year-old's prospect was the subject of guesswork during the transfer windows, amid long-standing attention from the Saudi Pro League, but the player himself used a post-match meeting to put the ball strongly in the team's court.
" To be honest I was coming to the game]as if] it could be the last time]playing at Old Trafford ]", Salah told Sky Sports following the victory. " Nobody in the league has talked to me about deals. It is not off to me, it is up to the club.
" As you know, it's my last year in the team. I just want to enjoy it, I do n't want to think about it. I feel I'm free to play soccer and let's see what's going to occur future time."
After the victory at Old Trafford, Salah's comments were covered in the media, and New Reds manager Arne Slot was subsequently questioned about them. Slot, who has won three of his three starts with the team, has already received three.
There are many possible answers, but we have one at this point, and I'm really glad that we have one because of the way he played. I do n't talk about contracts," the Dutchman said.
" He was impressive, like]in ] the first two games but if you talk about an individual you do n't do justice to the other ones. Mo and Lucho [Daz ] receive the majority of the attention, but that does n't do the other nine and the people who entered.
Salah signed a three-year deal extension for £350, 000-per-week as per Capology, in the summer of 2022 and is now in his ninth season with England, having netted 214 goals in 352 looks for the team.
Last summer, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad apparently rejected Liverpool's charge for Salah worth £150 million. According to DataVictory, Salah evidently has plenty to offer Liverpool, so it would be wise to expand the forward's agreement by a year or two, as it would be insulting for Reds fans to see a player who can still deliver the kind of performance we saw against Manchester United do.
