The final qualifying sessions for the three European team events will take place over the next week as teams from across Europe look to guide their spots in what will be a very diverse collection of tournaments this year.

This year, the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League will all change to the new" Swiss design," departing from the traditional party level.

Following the conclusion of the last finals, the draws for all three competitions did close, so DataVictory examines what has changed and how the novel draws will operate.

In 2024/25, how will the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League change?

The move from the traditional party level that pits four team together for the standard home-and-away lights has been scrapped in favour of a ' group period'. A second category that includes all 36 of the competition's qualifying teams will take its place in each tournament.

Each team will face eight different opponents in the Champions League and Europa League ( four at home and four away ) during the league phase. The best eight teams from the group phase will define quickly for the last-16, with those finishing between eighth and 24th playing in two-legged knock-out play-offs to determine the various eight teams to count for the last-16.

Only six games will be played in the Conference League.

Then, until the final, which will be held at neutral locations, will return to the previous knock-out competition.

How will the draws work?

All 36 clubs will be divided into four seeded pots in the Champions League and Europa League, each of whom will play two teams at home and away from home. These pots will be chosen based on their coefficient at the start of the season.

The Conference League sees teams put into six pots, meaning teams will be drawn against one team from each pot and then play three games at home and three away.

There will be another big change though, as computer software will be used once each of the 36 teams are physically drawn to select their opponents from the various pots and whether they will play home or away. The outcomes are then displayed on a screen in both television coverage and the draw room. This is because drawing the balls using the method we are used to would require almost 1, 000 balls and 36 bowls on stage.

When do the draws take place?

The Europa League and Conference League draws will take place on Friday, August 30 in Monaco, with the Champions League draw beginning at 11 a.m. on August 29.

By the end of the draw, each team will be aware of their opponents, with the full fixture list, including times and dates, coming out on August 31.
