It's been a summer of shift off the pitch at Liverpool, but that has not translated into a flurry of new eyes on the pitch.

After taking up his new position alongside novel sporting director Richard Hughes earlier this summer, Dutchman's side defeated Premier League new boys Ipswich Town on Saturday, giving his side a strong start to his new tenure.

Following last year's third-place complete under incoming boss Jurgen Klopp, the club are the only Premier League team to not have made a fresh signing this summer. However, that may change as the transfer window approaches.

That's because the Red are apparently working on bringing in four new eyes before the end of the month as Chelsea seem to get over their failure to signal Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

According to journalist Chris Wheatley, 19-year-old Gent forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo is closing in on a move to Anfield, with England said to be leading the likes of Leicester and Southampton in the competition for his signature.

Another attacking talent has also been linked in the shape of €60million-rated past Fulham and Everton winger Ademola Lookman, who scored a Europa League last hat-trick for Atalanta next year. The 26-year-old is being tracked amid concerns over the long-term prospects of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

Giorgi Mamardashvili, a goalkeeper for Valencia, has been a long-term ally of the club as Chelsea searches for a long-term replacement for Alisson Becker. According to Marca, the club are in for fresh discussions with Valencia over the Greek number one after three unsuccessful bids have been rejected.

Los Ches are said to be holding out for an asking amount of €40million, with Liverpool's past charge said to be €5million small.

Lastly, TEAMtalk claim that Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzka is being linked with the team, despite Slot being content with his midfielder options. Goretzka has seen new manager Vincent Kompany mark Joao Palhinha from Fulham, which is set to reduce his playing time in Bavaria. The Red may encounter opposition from Real Madrid and Barcelona for the 29-year-old but, with the possibility that any move for him could get shelved until the January transfer windows.
