One of Manchester City's original stars is said to be thinking about making a shocking move.

Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic scored both goals as Pep Guardiola's part defeated Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to start the new Premier League plan. The Sky Blues are chasing glory once more this phrase after capturing their fourth consecutive title next year.

In a historically quiet time, City's expenditure exceed their visitors row thanks to the signings of Julian Alvarez, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, and Sergio Gomez this summers. That may now all be about to change at the Etihad Stadium with only a few days left.

Ilkay Gundogan left for Barcelona only over a year ago, but it is the expert midfielder who has been linked with a returning to Manchester City in recent days, according to data obtained by Sport Witness. The 33-year-old is currently reported to be disappointed with the Nou Camp and wants to leave the Catalan area.

It's reported that the original Borussia Dortmund player has contacted City to discuss facilitating a move back to his previous club. It's unknown whether Guardiola would welcome the seasoned midfielder again. His Spanish agreement runs until 2025.

After Xavi's replacement took over from Gundogan earlier this year, Hansi Flick is said to have frozen out the former employer. Dani Olmo, the ex-City sun, and Barcelona have both been hired as Euro 2024 stars, but director Twist said he expects Gundogan to stay in La Liga.

" I think he's gonna end up staying at Barca", he said when quizzed on the future of Gundogan late. " He was up now as he had some pain. I spoke to Ilkay, but that stays between us as it's personal talk".

We at DataVictory believe that the latter would make sense for Gundogan in terms of a happy ending to his already illustrious playing job. He is also said to have suitors from both Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Valued by Transfermarkt at €15million ( £12.7million )- it could be an interesting few weeks for the five-time Premier League winner.
