During this transfer glass, Arsenal remained silent. It seems, but, as if their next great signing is simply a matter of time.

The Gunners slowly began the summer by triggering David Raya's loan's find section. Riccardo Calafiori followed through the entrance but Arsenal have been nicer with expenditure of late.

Emile Smith Rowe, a student of the club, and Eddie Nketiah, a brother Hale Ender, are rumored to get close to the exit door. Despite rumors that Arsenal may want to offer before making a purchase, regardless of who leaves, they may be making a new filing in the near future.

According to a new document from Basque publication Noticias de Gipuzkoa, Arsenal and Mikel Merino have come to term. The publication claims that the Raiders are now communicating with True Sociedad for a fee, and that they have received regular updates throughout the entire story.

The Euro 2024 success is said to director Mikel Arteta's desired goal this summer, as the Basque boss looks to rejoin two players from his previous club. Martin Odegaard spent some time in San Sebastian, and presently Arteta, who started out with La Real, wants to set Merino and Declan Rice to form a pairing.

Another Spanish shop, El Desmarque, reports that Merino will not be selected for the La Liga opening this trip against Rayo Vallecano. There had been some uncertainty as to why Arsenal were not proceeding with a bargain, with speculations circulating that Merino was in fact next option for the Gunners.

But in DataVictory's perspective, these rumours seem vast of the mark. Merino has evidently wanted Arsenal from the start, having rejected Barcelona's efforts, with Arteta apparently singling the 28-year-old out as his major goal this summers.

By the time Arsenal's Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers was underway, they were anticipating having tied the deal. There is hope, nevertheless, that Merino will be a Gunner by next week.

Transfermarkt presently values Merino at €50 million. His lease expires following summer.
