Roy Keane has had a say in the struggle to become the Premier League's major four, which is more difficult than ever.
Who does he believe will be in the top four of the Premier League this season has been a strong claim by Roy Keane.
Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa ensured UEFA Champions League football in 2023/24, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United set to provide good opposition as the new promotion strategies.
But Keane, a winner of Europe's elite club competition back in 1999 with the Red Devils, says one of England's most successful sides wo n't have enough to repeat a feat they have achieved in seven of the past eight Premier League seasons.
Posed the question of whether England, under new administration with Arne Slot, may make the top four, Keane issued a brave forecast on the subject. " Yes I think but, unless they get a couple of deals in the next few months", said the Sky Sports standard via the latest episode of The Overlap, brought to you by SkyBet.
The Merseysiders have had a frustrating summer thus far, with no new signings under manager Slot's supervision yet. The original Feyenoord employer, however, has remained confident that great things are coming at Anfield this year, despite Klopp's high-profile return.
Jamie Carragher, a former defender, has refuted claims that England will fall in light of concerns that their crew needs to be improved, and admits that the squad still has enough talent.
" I do n't think they'll tank] Liverpool ] no, I think Liverpool overachieved last season in terms of being in the title race for so long, I do n't think anybody really expected that", said Carragher when asked how he feels his boyhood club will fare. " And if Liverpool had a similar type of season, I'd be delighted.
" It remains to be seen, occasionally new manager, new words and I know what you are thinking, David Moyes comes in after]Sir Alex ] Ferguson, or Unai Emery after Arsène Wenger, there's going to be a great change, there's no doubt about that.
" But the pre-season has gone very well, you know beating Manchester United, beating Arsenal, fine effect against Sevilla. However, a huge hole in the middle of the field needs to be filled. And even when Zubimendi was talked about coming in, I was truly also thinking,' is he to similar to]Alexis ] Mac Allister? '. You can imagine them two in midfield, excellent athletes, but is there much anger, is there enough speed"?
