According to reports, Martin Zubimendi, a midfielder for True Sociedad, will join Liverpool in a £51 million deal, making his first major acquisition since Jurgen Klopp's time.

New director Arne Slot had prioritised a new defensive midfielder and should the Zubimendi package get over the line, it would be a good second step ahead of his lady winter at Anfield.

The second person to catch the eye is then Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, who claims England could renew interest in one of the Premier League's best younger wingers.

Anthony Gordon was linked with Liverpool earlier this summer before the June 30 accounting cut-off point, when it looked like Newcastle United may have to make last-minute player sales in order to meet their Profit and Sustainability Rules ( PSR ) commitments.

The former Everton star's move to Liverpool was reported to have cost them £75 million, but Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh's selling prevented the PSR bear from entering the St James ' ranks. However, Romano has speculated that the Red might make a late signing for the 23-year-old England worldwide with only over three months until the summer transfer windows.

" If they drop the rate at Newcastle, that could still be a possibility, I think, for England in the final months of the transfer window", Romano told GIVEMESPORT.

" But it's not something that I'm hearing is now really immediate, because there is still no charge to Newcastle. There is still no new club-to-club talk.

" So we have to see what happens in form of ripple people. But, at the moment, is not something really inevitable and we also have to honor Newcastle.

" They want to stay Anthony Gordon at the club. But, it's not going to get quick at all, but the recognition is 100 % confirmed".

In DataVictory's mind, Gordon, valued at €60million by Transfermarkt, may improve just about every team in the Premier League's strike, with England no exception. With the Red needing lay the earth for Mohamed Salah's future departure, they could do worse than send Gordon again to Merseyside.
