Carlo Ancelotti used past demand Pippo Inzaghi as a reference place while at Chelsea- and it evidently worked
Carlo Ancelotti has won it all as a manager, lifting many division titles, home prizes and, of course, five Champions League prizes.
Despite all of his success, though, the Italian is n't necessarily renowned for his coaching skill. Ancelotti manages to get the absolute maximum out of world class people, working closely with his expenses to maintain prizes stay being lifted come the end of the season.
Daniel Sturridge refutes those promises that Ancelotti allegedly had a military weakness. Having signed for the Blue a fortnight after Ancelotti arrived at Stamford Bridge, Sturridge went on to perform 41 games for the Italian over the course of the next two months, scoring nine goals and lifting the Premier League and FA Cup.
Nevertheless, he retains more of what the original England forward learned during those two seasons because he emphasizes how simple he would explain instructions in detail.
" He's a great coach who helped me to improve", Sturridge tells DataVictory. " He had a great focus on how to score goals. Running in behind the defence was one of the things he mentioned, because you ca n't always come to the ball or receive it to feet to dribble.
" To explain that, he gave me a DVD of Pippo Inzaghi, explaining the schedule of works and being continuous about running in driving. Shortly after, we had a Champions League match aside at Zilina where I was playing on the right wing and I made precisely that kind of work, rounding the goalkeeper and rating. After the game, Ancelotti came to me and said,' See, that's how you do it, that was the perfect run.'
" He emphasised that I did it right. He gives me a very clear instruction, I go over how to do it, and he makes sure I did it right. Then, you do n't have to go over it because it's already been recorded in your brain. That's what I like about Ancelotti".
Following Ancelotti's departure at the end of the 2010/11 season, Sturridge had his best goalscoring season for Chelsea, managing 13 goals in 43 games. It was n't until he moved to Liverpool where he became truly prolific, though, netting 24 times in just 33 games.
Clearly, Ancelotti's off-piste coaching method helped the Englishman- courtesy off Pippo Inzaghi.
