Tom Thibodeau and the New York Knicks have reportedly agreed to a three-year improvement, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

He will remain a free agent through the NBA season from 2027 to 2028 thanks to the new offer. No economic details were released.

Thibodeau, 66, is a two-time NBA Coach of the Year and has led the Knicks to the quarterfinals in three of his four months in command, including back-to-back visits to the Eastern Conference finals.

The Knicks have gone 175-173 since Thibodeau was hired in 2020, with 97 of those gets coming in the past two months. He's the fifth-winningest head coach in franchise history after Red Holzman ( 613 wins ), Joe Lapchick ( 326 ), Jeff Van Gundy ( 248 ) and Pat Riley ( 223 ).

According to ESPN Stats and Information, the Knicks are one of four NBA team that finished in the top 10 in both offensive and defensive performance last year.

The Knicks signed key people Anunoby and Jalen Brunson this summer as anticipation mounts for their bid to win the NBA name.
