A major second team star will be replaced by a champion of the European Championship at Manchester City.
Manchester City are looking to replace one of their key players of Pep Guardiola's era with a Euros hero, according to reports.
Since taking over in 2016, Guardiola has transformed Manchester City's wealth with a style of play presently used by lots of leagues across the globe. Playing out from the rear has been vital to that, helping the area winning six Premier League titles in seven years, a Champions League and many FA Cups and League Cups.
One player vital to that achievement has been Ederson, with his great ball-playing capability and essential saves helping on many occasions. Studies suggest he could be heading towards the exit door this summer, though, with his successor already lined up.
If Ederson left this summer, Manchester City may appear to replace him with Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to Sky Sports Italy.
Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia is interested in Ederson, with Manchester City paying £40 million for him. If they ca n't match that fee, Donnarumma will likely leave PSG this summer, leaving the club open to a temptation to do so.
The Euro 2020 win moved to Paris on a complimentary transfer in 2021, and finally made the No. 1 position his personal after having to share performing tasks with Keylor Navas during his first year.
The document suggests that the Italian has interest in the Premier League while Pep Guardiola wants to take over as Ederson before he even leaves the club, given that Donnarumma's PSG contract is up for renewal in two decades. The appearance of Matvey Safonov may also place a certain force on Luis Enrique, with the Russian having price around £17m.
Although PSG may need a much larger present to start conversations for Donnarumma, Transfermarkt values the Italian at £34 million. Manchester City have money to spend, but, having only made one signing in Savinho this summers.
In the event that Ederson leaves, it seems a little ridiculous that Manchester City do attempt to sign Donnarumma when Stefan Ortega is already a top-notch goalkeeper in their possession. Donnarumma is n't necessarily the best with his feet, either, throwing question marks over whether he'd fit into Guardiola's style of play.
