England's next subsequent European Championship last has been led by Gareth Southgate, but there is growing rumors that the 53-year-old might step down after Sunday's Euro 2024 last against Spain.
Few would have imagined that Southgate, a past defender for Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa, would still be in charge about eight years after taking the interim position in September 2016 on an interim basis.
Yet he is, playing for the Three Lions ' first major award in men's basketball since 1966 and overseeing over 100 activities as England boss.
When does Gareth Southgate's deal disappear?
Gareth Southgate's existing lease with the Football Association expires in December 2024, and the England director has vowed to stay in touch with his former boss while his club is focused on Euro 2024.
According to reports ahead of the last against Spain, the FA are ready to provide Southgate a new deal with the Three Cats, which would take him up to the 2026 World Cup.
England midfielder Declan Rice reaffirmed his desire for Southgate to continue in demand and that the entire crew had "love it" if he accepted a new contract at a press event in the lead up to the match.

Gareth Southgate's coming is unknown at this point, with the England director putting all speculation aside for the moment.

Southgate was linked with the Red Devils as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag following the INEOS acquisition of Manchester United, but it has since been confirmed that the French coach will remain at Old Trafford for a next time.
