Gary Neville was n't happy when England won their Euro 2024 semi-final against the Netherlands, which ended in a contentious first-half penalty decision.
The decision to give England a first-half penalty against the Netherlands in their Euro 2024 semi-final was hailed as "absolutely disgraceful."
In Dortmund, The Three Lions were soon in the lead thanks to a beautiful Xavi Simons goal. Harry Kane attempted to block the picture with a Bukayo Saka bridge in the 14th minute, but the England captain volleyed it over the bar.
After being directed to go to the track by his Som, Euro 2024 referee Felix Zwayer pointed to the area after deeming Dumfries ' email to be a bad.
The choice was immediately criticised by fans and critics likewise, but Kane wasted no time in converting the area push to stage the match against the Netherlands. At half-time, the score remained 1-1, and there was only one conversational matter.
" Look, as a defender I think it's an absolute disgrace", former England right-back Gary Neville exclaimed on ITV. " I think it's an absolutely terrible determination.
" To have that given against me as a penalty at any time, but in a sport of such value. I was fuming with the one the various year, the Denmark one, the handball, that was a disgrace as well, I was offended by that one.

" I have to state, he only goes in obviously just to try and prevent the shot. it's certainly a penalty for me, it's nothing near a penalty. I must admit that there were n't many England players who backed it either.
" Harry naturally stayed down, he got a little bit of a click on his feet, but it's never a penalty for me. But certainly you get your chance England have played truly also that first half."
Ian Wright, who was present alongside Neville, said," Gary, I think when you look at the way that sanctions are given then, and when things go to VAR, that was foolish.
" The means he's challenged. That's why he's given it. We've got Som, we've got all. If that's anywhere else on the pitch you get a bad for it".
A to and fro unfolded, with Neville saying:" We're all going mad. What a penalty is, is it for everyone? If one thinks that's foolish then actually … we've conditioned ourselves now in the sport where we think that's foolish and we think that's a penalty, actually, that is not a penalty".
Undaunted, Wright continued with his discussion:" If you put that in the midfield, his studs are away, it's smooth, you can say whatever you want, but his studs are off, those are given as penalties today", he said before Neville had his last say on the incident.
" I think in the field there's a little bit of permission for a defender to go with integrity and stop the picture", he concluded. " There's got to be a little bit of licensing to stop the shot, then you're never going to prevent a chance".
