Only 24 days before their fight with England, the Netherlands had to change their plans.
On Tuesday night, the Netherlands had their preparations for the Euro 2024 semi-final against England slowed down.
Turkey defeated 2-1 on Saturday nights to seal a place in Ronald Koeman's team's final four match against the Three Cats, which will take place on Wednesday night in Dortmund.
The winners will face off against France in the first semi-final on Tuesday, but Koeman's area had to make changes to their travel and press schedule only 24 hours before the match.
The French squad's train was scheduled to leave Wolfsbug on Tuesday evening for Dortmund, but due to a technical issue, the train was delayed.
This meant the team had to mandate a trip to Dortmund at the last moment, with their 155-mile trip believed to be taking off at around 8.20pm, only 24 hours before the match is due to be played. Their later entrance means a pre-match
The Dutch had to withdraw their pre-game press conference, at which time Koeman and a player were scheduled to appear in front of the internet at 7:30 pm.
A statement from UEFA stated:" Due to the Netherlands ' team travel to Dortmund having been disrupted, their arrival time has been significantly delayed and therefore no ( matchday ) -1 press conference will take place".
The Dutch FA even released a statement outlining the shift of strategy. " The Dutch team will not arrive in Dortmund until tonight, where the semi-final against England is scheduled for tomorrow ( Wednesday ) evening", it read.
" People and staff were scheduled to travel from Wolfsburg to Dresden by teach this evening around 4pm. Due to a traffic jam on the route, this train services has been canceled.
England director Gareth Southgate was asked about the lag in his pre-match press conference but dismissed the notion that it would hands his team an edge.
" We do n't play until 9pm tomorrow", he said. " There's plenty of time. I'm certain they'll still get meal".
