Kawhi Leonard's playoff ended like so many others have until, in street clothes and with an injury, after his healthier regular time in years.

After missing the last three playoff games for the Clippers with annoying knee swelling, Leonard is now training with Team USA for the Summer Olympics in Paris. So what do the Clippers think about their continued- damaged sun inviting more wound risk to sing for another team? Are they concerned?

" No really", Leonard said Sunday, per ESPN. " They were positive about the situation. So, yeah, they was n't too worried about it".

At Team USA's Las Vegas education station, Leonard addressed the issue while speaking with reporters. He claimed that his knee has improved since the NBA postseason, making it necessary for him to take USA Basketball's invitation to join other ex-nba Finals MVPs Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and LeBron James on a star-studded Olympic roster.

" I took the time, and I was able to move around over the past two days", Leonard said. " But, I'm out here then, and, yeah, I'm having a good time".

Leonard, a six-time All-American selection, two-time NBA champion, and Finals MVP, has n't had many gaps on his Hall of Fame resume. One of them is an Olympic gold medal. This summer may mark the first time Leonard's played in the Olympics. At 33 years old with a long damage history, there's a good probability that it's also his last Olympics, certainly a motivating factor in his decision to play this summer.

" I've always wanted to play against other talent overseas and just other basketball styles and plays", Leonard said, per the Los Angeles Times. " It's one of the reasons why I love the game".

After Paul George left the Clippers for the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency, the team isundergoing a significant transition. They do n't project to contend for a championship in the aftermath of George's exit, but they will lean more on Leonard as the team's No. 1 option moving forward.

For a player who has watched the Clippers' final three playoff games from the sidelines with injuries, it's a difficult situation. That excludes a 2021-22 season for the Clippers, which saw Leonard miss the playoffs due to his ACL injury.

But for now, Leonard's healthy and says that "everything's been going good" as he's fully participated in Team USA's first two practices. He's not worried about the injury risk. And, according to Leonard, the Clippers are n't that worried either.
