Kentavious Caldwell- Pope leaves the Denver Nuggets for a profitable free agent deal with the Orlando Magic.
Kentavious Caldwell- Pope may leave the Denver Nuggets to mark a three- yr,$ 66 million package with the Orlando Magic, as reported by USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt and ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Caldwell- Pope, 31, was a significant part of the Nuggets ' 2023 NBA finals team in addition to the 2023- 24 club. In two months with Denver, he averaged 10.4 items, 2.4 aids and 1.4 grabs per activity while shooting 42 % on 3- pointers.
Caldwell-Pope returned to his$ 15 million player option, according to the Nuggets. But the former opted out, banking that he could report a more attractive package in free agency. By agreeing to a package with the Magic, who then add more scoring, better firing, and security for the shield and aircraft positions, he quickly demonstrated the wisdom of that choice.

Denver is expected to complete its starting shooting watch place with Christian Braun, then that Caldwell- Pope is moving abroad.
Caldwell- Pope presumably also drew attention from the Philadelphia 76ers, but all signs are pointing to drafting Paul George to replace that aircraft spot. The Detroit Pistons, who originally drafted him in 2013 out of Georgia, also would have liked to add a veteran shooter and defender like Caldwell- Pope, but he was n't going to win there.
Caldwell- Pope has also won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 throughout his career. He's averaged 11.4 points, three rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game during his 11 NBA seasons.
