Cameron Payne, an NBA shield, was detained on Friday night in Scottsdale, Arizona, after giving false information to the police and no naming himself. He was booked, but he was soon released from jail.
NBA free agent watch Cameron Payne was arrested earlier Friday night in Scottsdale, Arizona, for allegedly giving police officers a false statement and refusing to give his name. Payne's imprisonment was initially reported by TMZ Sports.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were called to investigate a commotion at about 2: 44 a. m. and found two individuals on the field, one of them Payne. What interruption did the police respond to without giving specifics. However, Payne was detained and booked into the Scottsdale City Jail. Shortly thereafter, he was released from custody.
Payne, 29, played four times for the Phoenix Suns from 2019- 23. He was the Oklahoma City Thunder's initial- round find ( No. 14 total ) in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Murray State. During his nine- time NBA job, Payne has played for the Thunder, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers.
Payne and Patrick Beverley were traded for second-round picks by the Cash to the Flyers in February. In 31 regular season games with Philadelphia, he averaged 9.3 positions and 3.1 help per activity while shooting 38 % on 3- ideas. During the playoffs, Payne appeared in five game, averaging 5.3 positions and shooting 44 % on 3s.
Payne is expected to leave the Sixers on a completely agent deal, but they apparently want to re-sign him as a safeguard in place of point guard Tyrese Maxey.
