According to history, the Scots had disturbed the guests ' group during the Euro 2024 big kick-off.
In the beginning suit of Euro 2024, Scotland will experience hosts Germany, which is undoubtedly a difficult task.
The Munich event curtain-raiser saw the arrival of around 200 000 Tartan Army members, but will the Scots also be a shrewd underdogs in face of the three-time Western champions?
Or did they? We've unearthed a rating which might just be a good sign for Steve Clarke's part as they begin their Euro 2024 plan.
The rating gives Scotland the edge over Germany.
Germany becomes the sixth only host since 1984, when Belgium and the Netherlands co-hosted the event, followed by Austria and Switzerland in 2008, Poland and Ukraine in 2012, and the pan-European format for Euro 2020, which saw 11 nations level games.
Just France has won the tournament curtain-raiser in the previous six of these Dollars, and only France has done so once in the past two. France also kicked off their successful 1984 plan with a 1- 0 win over Denmark, and they also lost to Portugal in the last, by defeating Romania 2- 1.
At Euro 1988, hosts West Germany drew the opening against Italy 1- 1, in 1992, Sweden drew 1- 1 with France, and four years later, England were held to the same scoreline by Switzerland.
And in 2004, the visitors did n't also pick up a place in the first meet: Portugal lost 2- 1 to Greece, who reportedly upset them again in the last.
Scotland have been here before
This wo n't be Scotland's first experience of raising the curtain at a major tournament.
The Scots faced holders Brazil in the opening match of the 1998 World Cup, their final final game away from home, having played all three of their Euro 2020 matches in the UK. They were level on a John Collins penalty after falling behind early, but Thomas Boyd's second-half own goal gave them a lead of 2 to 1.
